I was introduced to this guy by a German foreign exchange student that I was friends with a few years back. Yeah I didn’t exactly know what this Sido character was saying but you can just tell by the way he raps that he has talent.
Lets learn more about Sido, starting with his real name which is Paul Hartmut Würdig. Although he was born in Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg he and his younger sister were raised by his mother in Märkisches Viertel, a high-rise residential area in the Reinickendorf borough of Berlin. He went to Bettina-von-Arnim-Oberschule there.
Paul got his carrer started in 1997 as a member of the underground duo Royal TS (now know as A.i.d.S), along side his best friend B-Tight. Several demo tapes later they drew attention and the Berlin label Royal Bunker signed them a record deal. Sido’s popularity grew through his appearance on many samplers. His first solo album, Maske was released in 2004 and was #3 in the German charts. His single “Mein Block” reached the Top Ten.
